A Taste of Honey (Ed Sullivan Show)

Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass performed this jazz standard on The Ed Sullivan Show in 1965, the same year their interpretation became a hit. The song, originally composed by Bobby Scott with lyrics by Ric Marlow in 1962, had been featured in the 1962 British film of the same name. Alpert's mariachi-flavored instrumental version brought the melody to American television audiences at the height of the band's popularity.
