"Ain't No Mountain High Enough" was written by Nickolas Ashford and Valerie Simpson in 1966 for Motown's Tamla label. First successful as a 1967 hit by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, the song became Diana Ross's first solo number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970 and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
