All Along the Watchtower

Written by Bob Dylan for his 1967 album John Wesley Harding, "All Along the Watchtower" was covered by Jimi Hendrix for Electric Ladyland (1968), released six months after Dylan's original. The Hendrix version became a Top 20 single in 1968, was ranked 40th in Rolling Stone's 2021 version of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, and Dylan has performed the song live more than any of his others with over 2,250 recitals.
