Written by Lionel Richie, this song from his second solo album Can't Slow Down combined his Commodores style with Caribbean influences and reached number one on three Billboard charts (pop, R&B and adult contemporary). Richie has admitted that the "African" lyrics such as "Tam bo li de say de moi ya" were in fact gibberish, describing these portions as a "wonderful joke" written when he lacked time to hire a translator.
