Battles

Battles formed in New York City in 2002, bringing together experimental rock musicians including Ian Williams from Don Caballero and John Stanier from Helmet. The band crafted a distinctive sound built on intricate guitar loops, complex rhythms, and minimal vocals. Their 2007 debut album Mirrored introduced their math rock approach to a wider audience, with "Atlas" becoming their breakthrough track.
