Deftones

Deftones formed in Sacramento, California in 1988, developing an alternative metal sound that incorporated atmospheric textures alongside heavy riffs. Their 1995 debut "Adrenaline" introduced their aggressive style, while 2000's "White Pony" expanded their sonic palette with more experimental elements. The band distinguished themselves from nu-metal peers through Chino Moreno's dynamic vocal range and the group's willingness to explore ambient soundscapes.
