Evelyn Champagne King

Evelyn 'Champagne' King is an American disco and R&B singer from the Bronx who was discovered while working as an office cleaner at Philadelphia International Records in the mid-1970s. Her 1978 debut hit 'Shame' launched her career, followed by the massive 1982 success 'Love Come Down,' which showcased her move toward a more contemporary R&B sound. She continued recording through the 1980s and 1990s.
