Flo Rida, born Tramar Dillard in Miami, emerged in 2007 with his debut single "Low" featuring T-Pain, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for ten weeks. His music blends hip-hop with pop and electronic dance influences, making him a fixture on both rap and pop radio throughout the late 2000s. He had previously been a member of the rap group GroundHoggz before pursuing his solo career.
