Iron Butterfly

Iron Butterfly formed in San Diego in 1966 and became a key act in the psychedelic rock movement. Their 1968 album "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" featured the 17-minute title track, which became an FM radio staple despite its length. The album sold millions of copies and demonstrated the commercial potential of extended psychedelic hard rock compositions.
