Jan Hammer

Jan Hammer is a Czech-born keyboardist and composer who initially gained recognition in the 1970s jazz fusion scene, playing with the Mahavishnu Orchestra. His synthesizer-driven "Miami Vice Theme" topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985, making him one of the few instrumental artists to achieve that feat in the 1980s. Hammer's electronic soundscapes became highly influential in television scoring.
