John Prine

John Prine was a singer-songwriter from Illinois who emerged in 1971 with his self-titled debut album featuring "Angel from Montgomery" and other deeply observant songs. His folk-country style combined wry humor with poignant storytelling about ordinary people and social issues. Prine continued recording and touring for nearly five decades, earning widespread respect among fellow musicians and releasing his final album in 2018.
