Mandrill

Mandrill formed in Brooklyn, New York in 1968, created by three brothers of Panamanian descent. The band blended funk, soul, jazz, and Latin rhythms with African percussion, creating an eclectic sound that stood apart from their contemporaries. Their energetic performances and multi-instrumental abilities were showcased on albums throughout the 1970s, with tracks like "Fencewalk" demonstrating their fusion of diverse musical traditions.
