Manfred Mann Earth Band

Manfred Mann's Earth Band formed in 1971 when South African keyboardist Manfred Mann reshaped his earlier pop group into a progressive rock outfit. The band became known for their elaborate rock arrangements of Bruce Springsteen songs, most notably their 1976 cover of "Blinded by the Light," which became a number one hit in the United States. Their sound blended progressive rock with jazz fusion elements and Mann's distinctive keyboard work.
