Maria McKee began her music career as the lead singer of the Los Angeles country-rock band Lone Justice in the mid-1980s before launching a solo career. Her powerful, emotionally charged vocals brought a raw intensity to her blend of country, rock, and folk influences. "Show Me Heaven," written for the film Days of Thunder in 1990, became her biggest international hit and topped charts across Europe.
