Norman Greenbaum
Norman Greenbaum launched his music career in California during the 1960s, initially performing with the jug band Dr. West's Medicine Show and Junk Band. His 1969 single "Spirit in the Sky" became a massive international hit, featuring its distinctive fuzz guitar riff and gospel-influenced rock sound. Despite recording several albums afterward, Greenbaum never replicated the commercial success of this one enduring track.
