Rise Against

Rise Against formed in Chicago in 1999, bringing together members of the local hardcore punk scene including vocalist Tim McIlrath and guitarist Joe Principe. The band's melodic hardcore sound combines punk rock intensity with socially conscious lyrics addressing political and environmental issues. Their 2008 album "Appeal to Reason" marked their commercial breakthrough and introduced their sound to a wider alternative rock audience.
