Scandal formed in New York City in 1981, led by vocalist Patty Smyth and guitarist Zack Smith. The band's blend of rock and new wave earned them attention, particularly with their 1984 hit "The Warrior," which reached the top ten. Smyth later pursued a solo career after the band's breakup in 1985, though they briefly reunited in the 1990s.
