Shawn Colvin emerged from the New York folk scene in the late 1980s, releasing her debut album "Steady On" in 1989. The South Dakota-born singer-songwriter combined introspective lyrics with skillful guitar work across several well-regarded albums. Her biggest commercial success came with 1997's "A Few Small Repairs," particularly the single "Sunny Came Home," which earned her Grammy awards for Song of the Year and Record of the Year.
