The Doobie Brothers

Formed in San Jose, California in 1970, the band achieved their greatest success throughout the 1970s with a sound that shifted from mainstream rock to soul-influenced music after Michael McDonald joined in 1975. Their videos for "What a Fool Believes" (which won two Grammys including Song of the Year), "Long Train Running," and "Black Water" (which hit number one in 1974) showcased the vocal harmonies and genre flexibility that defined their five-decade career.
