Was (Not Was)

Was (Not Was) formed in Detroit in the late 1970s, created by multi-instrumentalists Don and David Was. The duo blended funk, soul, pop, and experimental sounds, collaborating with a rotating cast of vocalists and musicians. Their eclectic approach produced songs ranging from dance-floor tracks to quirky, socially-conscious numbers throughout the 1980s and early 1990s.
