Youssou N'Dour

Youssou N'Dour is a Senegalese singer who has been a leading figure in African music since the 1970s. Known for his powerful tenor voice and his band Super Étoile de Dakar, he brought mbalax music to international audiences. His duet with Neneh Cherry, "7 Seconds," became a worldwide hit in 1994, introducing his music to mainstream European and American listeners.
