Released by Capitol Records in December 1982 as the second single from George Clinton's album Computer Games, this track became the P-Funk collective's last to reach #1 on the U.S. R&B Chart. Written by George Clinton, Garry Shider, and David Spradley, the single failed to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 but has since attained significant stature, partly due to being sampled in several hip hop songs.
