Written by Holland-Dozier-Holland (under the pseudonym Edythe Wayne) and Ron Dunbar, this 1970 single reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the UK singles chart for six weeks. The recording featured Dennis Coffey on electric sitar and a young Ray Parker Jr. on lead guitar, with backing vocals by Pamela Vincent, Joyce Vincent Wilson, and Telma Hopkins (who later formed Tony Orlando & Dawn).
