Barbie Girl

Written by all four Aqua members after Søren Rasted saw an exhibit on kitsch culture featuring Barbie dolls, this dance-pop track topped charts worldwide and reached number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100. The accompanying music video was directed by Danish directors Peder Pedersen and Peter Stenbæk. Mattel sued Aqua's label for diluting the Barbie image, though 25 years later they licensed the song for the 2023 Barbie film.
