Butterflies and Hurricanes

Written by Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard, and Christopher Wolstenholme, this was released as the sixth and final single from Muse's third studio album Absolution on September 20, 2004. The song was one of two tracks recorded with a studio orchestra, with its title and theme inspired by the butterfly effect of chaos theory, and was dedicated to Dominic Howard's father, who died shortly after the band's Glastonbury Festival performance.
