Written by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, and John Taylor, "Notorious" marked Duran Duran's shift to a funk rock sound and was the first single released after Roger Taylor and Andy Taylor left the band. The song reached number two on the US Billboard Hot 100, number seven in the UK, and topped the charts in Greece and Italy when released in October 1986.
