Written by Dan Wilson for Semisonic's second album Feeling Strangely Fine, this ballad was produced by Nick Launay. Drummer Jacob Slichter revealed Wilson wrote it in anticipation of fatherhood, comparing birth to being sent forth from the womb like a bouncer clearing a bar.
