Written by Marc Bolan, "Hot Love" was released as a standalone single by T. Rex in 1971 on the Fly label. Bolan's two Top of the Pops performances in March 1971, in shiny satin stagewear and glittery make-up suggested by stylist Chelita Secunda, helped trigger the glam rock movement.
