Comfortably numb
Written by David Gilmour and Roger Waters and released on Pink Floyd's eleventh studio album The Wall in 1979, "Comfortably Numb" was released as a single in 1980. Waters wrote the lyrics recalling his experience of being injected with tranquilisers before a performance in 1977, while Gilmour composed the music, and in 2021 it was ranked number 179 on Rolling Stone's list of "the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time."
