Cruel Summer

Written by Bananarama, Steve Jolley, and Tony Swain for their self-titled second album, with lyrics inspired by the group's inability to take a summer holiday due to promotion commitments. Sara Dallin said the song played on the darker side of summer, looking at oppressive heat and the misery of wanting to be with someone.
