Written by Andy Partridge and originally left off XTC's Skylarking due to label concerns, this song was added after US college radio DJs championed it, prompting Geffen to recall and re-press the album. The music video, directed by photographer Nick Brandt, won the 1987 Billboard Best Video award and received three MTV Video Music Awards nominations. The song's anti-religious message provoked violent reactions including a bomb threat at one US radio station.
