Released as the second single from Beck's album Odelay, this song was co-written and co-produced by Beck, John King, and Mike Simpson, peaking at number 23 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and number 22 on the UK Singles Chart. The music video was directed by Mark Romanek and filmed in New York City, while Melody Maker ranked the song number six in their "Singles of the Year" list for 1996.
