Phil Harder emerged in the late 1990s and early 2000s directing alternative rock videos with a cinematic, often melancholic tone. His three collaborations with Incubus—including "Drive" and "Stellar"—featured moody color palettes and introspective performance footage that suited the band's progressive sound. Harder also worked with The Cranberries and Yellowcard, maintaining a consistent atmospheric approach across his 2000s output.
