R
Russell Mulcahy
Russell Mulcahy was among the earliest directors to work extensively in music videos, active from the late '70s and especially prolific in the early MTV era. His theatrical style emphasized dramatic lighting, fog machines, and narrative scenarios, evident in Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart" and Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis Eyes." He collaborated frequently with Duran Duran and Elton John before transitioning to feature films in the mid-'80s.
