Walter Stern
Walter Stern anchored much of British electronic and alternative music's visual identity in the mid-to-late 1990s, working on four Prodigy videos that used aggressive handheld camera work and high-contrast lighting. His Verve "Bitter Sweet Symphony" followed Richard Ashcroft in an unbroken single-take street walk, while Massive Attack collaborations favored moody, atmospheric restraint. Stern worked almost exclusively in the UK during this period.
