(Don't Fear) The Reaper
Lead guitarist Buck Dharma wrote this song while contemplating his own mortality, exploring themes of eternal love and death's inevitability. Released as an edited single from the 1976 album Agents of Fortune, it became Blue Öyster Cult's biggest chart success, reaching #12 on the Billboard Hot 100. Rolling Stone ranked it #405 on their list of the top 500 songs of all time in December 2003.
