Earth Song

Written and produced by Michael Jackson with David Foster and Bill Bottrell, "Earth Song" was released on November 8, 1995, as the third single from HIStory and was Jackson's first song to overtly discuss the environment and animal welfare. The song topped the charts in the United Kingdom as the 1995 Christmas number one, as well as in Germany, Iceland, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland, and its music video was directed by Nick Brandt and shot in four geographical regions centered on the destruction and rebirth of Earth.
