Written by Adrian Belew, Mariah Carey, Chris Frantz, Dave Hall, Steven Stanley, and Tina Weymouth, "Fantasy" samples Tom Tom Club's 1981 song "Genius of Love" and became the first song by a female artist to debut atop the Billboard Hot 100, topping the chart for eight consecutive weeks. Carey directed the music video herself, filming at Playland Amusement Park in Rye, New York, featuring her rollerblading through the park and dancing atop a Hummer's sunroof.
