Written by Jewel and Patrick Leonard as one of the last songs for her second album Spirit, this piano-driven ballad reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1998 despite having no commercial US single release. Jewel wrote the song after an incident where she considered stealing a sundress following job losses due to kidney troubles, deciding her hands were better suited to writing songs than stealing.
