The Who - Happy Jack

Happy Jack

Pete Townshend wrote this December 1966 single about a man who slept on a beach near where Townshend vacationed as a child, enduring mockery from children who once buried him in the sand but never seemed bothered by it. The song peaked at number 3 in the UK and became the Who's first US top 40 hit, reaching number 24 in March 1967.
