"Hold My Hand" was written by Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, Darius Rucker, and Jim Sonefeld sometime in 1989 and serves as the debut single from Hootie & the Blowfish's first album Cracked Rear View. Released in July 1994, it charted at number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and includes a backing vocal from David Crosby.
