Hoochie Coochie Man
Written by Willie Dixon and first recorded by Muddy Waters in 1954, "Hoochie Coochie Man" became one of Waters' most popular songs and helped secure Dixon's role as Chess Records' chief songwriter. The song is a Chicago blues classic that makes reference to hoodoo folk magic and uses a stop-time arrangement. The Blues Foundation and Grammy Hall of Fame recognize it for its influence, and the Library of Congress selected it for preservation in 2004.
