Written by Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes, Andy Taylor, John Taylor, and Roger Taylor, "Hungry Like the Wolf" was produced by Colin Thurston for Duran Duran's second studio album Rio and released on 4 May 1982 in the UK. The music video was directed by Russell Mulcahy and filmed in Sri Lanka, and after MTV placed it into heavy rotation, the song peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 1983 and won the first Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video in 1984.
