I'll Be Around
Co-written by Thom Bell and Phil Hurtt, "I'll Be Around" was initially released as the B-side to "How Could I Let You Get Away" but became The Spinners' breakthrough hit after radio DJs flipped the single. Recorded at Philadelphia's Sigma Sound Studios with MFSB as the backing band, the song spent five weeks at number one on the U.S. R&B chart and reached number three on the Pop chart in fall 1972, becoming the group's first million-selling record.
