I'll Be
This hip hop track from Foxy Brown's debut album Ill Na Na features Jay-Z and peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming both artists' highest charting single at the time. Released in March 1997, it was certified gold by the RIAA two months later, sold over 500,000 copies, and remains Brown's only solo top-40 single and her only single to earn a certification. The music video was directed by Brett Ratner, and the song samples René & Angela's 1985 track "I'll Be Good."
