I Want Your Sex
Written and produced by George Michael, this lead single from the Faith album was banned by BBC Radio 1 and restricted to post-9 p.m. airplay on many US stations, which feared it promoted promiscuity at the height of the AIDS crisis. The music video featured Michael writing "Explore" on a woman's thigh and "Monogamy" on her back — a deliberate statement that the song was about fidelity, not casual sex. The controversy did nothing to stop it reaching number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the UK Singles Chart.
