Imitation Of Life
Written by Peter Buck, Mike Mills, and Michael Stipe, "Imitation of Life" takes its title from Douglas Sirk's 1959 film and was released as the first single from R.E.M.'s album Reveal in 2001. The song reached number six on the UK Singles Chart, giving R.E.M. their ninth top-10 single in Britain, and was nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 44th Annual Grammy Awards.
