Written by the four Culture Club members and Phil Pickett and featured on their 1983 album Colour by Numbers, this worldwide hit reached number one in 20 countries and spent six weeks at the top of the UK charts. It became the UK's biggest-selling single of 1983 with 955,000 copies sold that year and later reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 for three weeks in early 1984, becoming the band's only American chart-topper.
