Kool Thing

Released in June 1990 as the first single from Sonic Youth's sixth album Goo, "Kool Thing" was inspired by Kim Gordon's Spin magazine interview with LL Cool J. The song features spoken vocals from Chuck D and references several LL Cool J works including "I Can't Live Without My Radio" and Walking with a Panther, with Gordon repeatedly using the line "I don't think so" from his song "Going Back to Cali."
