Written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, this dance track became the seventh single from Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 album and her fourth number one from the album on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the third female album in chart history to produce four number-one singles. The music video, directed by photographer Herb Ritts, features Jackson in the desert with models Djimon Hounsou and Antonio Sabàto Jr., and won Best Female Video at the 1991 MTV Video Music Awards.
